deuteronomy 6.7
"you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

the most beloved and life-changing event of our year is approaching.
God, in His love for us, gives us many opportunities to show our children, the meaning of Easter.

new life is around us.
i ask: what did this tree look like a few weeks ago?
and now birds can't resist it and blooms are emerging.

i ask: where have the butterflies been?
caterpillars. cocoon. and now a beautiful butterfly.
and now they are new creations with a new purpose.

2 Corinthians 5.17
"therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. the old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

we talk to our boys about life within our home.
i borrowed the idea of the Easter tree from ann voskamp.
we tweaked it and made it our own.

we talk of words that describe Easter and Holy Week.
alive. Matthew 28.6
forgiven. Luke 23.34
life. John 3.16
peace. Isaiah 53.5
love. Romans 5.8
new creation. 2 Corinthians 5.17

we read children's stories.
we invite our friends to come to church with us on Easter Sunday.
we pray for our church staff and volunteers.
we pray that our city will desire to know more of our Savior.

celebrate it for what it is...
the most beloved and life-changing event of the year.
