when on a bike...

…set small goals within the big goal.

it's been on my bucket list since we started calling the city home.

not just to bike across the bridge, but to bike across the bridge as a family.

here's how we bike...

DSC_0332

rent bikes from the sports basement in the presidio. they have tandem bikes and bike carriers. i suggest calling ahead of time and they will hold them for you.

start early. make it a day.

DSC_0333

know the weather. dress in layers or just suck it up and prepare to sweat or freeze.

in the city and over the bridge, you just never know.

DSC_0337

pack some water and protein. other than the ocean to the left and the bay to the right,

not so much as a watering hole around.

DSC_0338

remind yourself how you started the day -

set small goals within the big goal.

cheer those little legs on. yes, yours are little, but i'm thinking of their little legs!

DSC_0339

up the hill. across the bridge. the rewarding downhill!

power up the hill {on foot}.

DSC_0343

careful around the bends into sausalito. get ferry tickets.

DSC_0344

park the bikes. enjoy ice cream at lappert's.

line up early for the ferry. limited number of bikes on board each
